Source Capture
Ventilation Test for the City of Boston
To better illustrate the source capture capability of the SalonSafe® ventilation system, we performed a simple test for the City of Boston's Public Health Commission.
The City of Boston's ventilation requirements mirror those found in the International Mechanical Code for nail salons.
This test was recently performed in a newly opened nail salon in Boston during normal business hours.
Although a smoke pencil can be used, we prefer chilled theatrical fog as it better simulates low density chemical properties.
The nail salon's base building HVAC system is running during this test.
The source capture vents are within 12" of chemical applications and are capturing fumes at 50cfm.
